Effective 29 July 2024, the Board of Directors of Mercy Wellsprings has appointed Susan Elliott as the first Executive Director.
Susan is delighted to join the Sisters of Mercy and their partners in ministry in this new venture of Mercy Wellsprings, Inc. As Executive Director she will lead the new corporation in guiding the function and operation of the ministries of the Sisters of Mercy into the future. She is entrusted with this task in collaboration with the Sisters and with the wonderful men and women who hold leadership roles in each of the ministries today and onwards.
Susan brings a wealth of experience to her position as Executive Director. She is a woman of compassion, gentle presence and attentive listening. She is committed to collaborate with us and with our colleagues in sustaining in a new way the values by which we have shaped all our ministries over these many years.
Susan has held executive and senior leadership positions in major companies in Canada. She is able to align people and business strategy through effective organizational design, planning, change management and continuous improvement.
The Sisters of Mercy are delighted to have Susan as Executive Director of Mercy Wellsprings, Inc. We ask God to bless her with wisdom, courage and trust. We know that God’s spirit will be present to inspire and guide her in this important mission in advancing the charism of Mercy as carried out in care of people, especially the most vulnerable, and in the care of our Earth.
Formation Consultant
On a Consulting basis, Dr Anne Walsh is a part-time Formation Director with Mercy Wellsprings, who is a Lay Redemptorist Missionary in St. John’s. Anne is an educator and recognized leader in Adult Faith Formation in the Catholic Church in Canada.
Anne has held and still holds many positions associated with the church – Director of Adult Faith Formation and Executive Assistant to the Archbishop in the Archdiocese of St John’s, member of the CCCB National Advisory Committee on Adult Catechesis, co-chair of the Partnership in Mission Commission for the English-speaking Redemptorists in Canada, and co-chair of the Redemptorist North American Commission for Partnership in Mission.
Anne has worked a lot with the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland, and we are thankful for the work and support she has brought to the Mercy Wellsprings’ Formation Program.
