The past history of the Sisters of Mercy describes the story of hundreds of sisters who served as teachers at all levels and aspects of education and in all types of educational facilities in the province of Newfoundland, in Peru and elsewhere.
In 2008 there is one sister still teaching in elementary school. A few sisters continue to teach at the college level in liturgy and theology and scripture. Some also are called upon from all around the world to facilitate conferences, assemblies and other professional and educational events.
